Please read this agreement carefully before making your booking.

1. Your agreement with us ("the agreement") only comes into effect when we have received your signed booking form and a deposit of £10 per person/per bike is payable at the time of booking. Thebreakpad staff reserve the right to refuse hire.

2. The deposit of £50/£100 per bike (cash or card). To be held against any damage to the bike/hire equipment. If the hired equipment is damaged and/or not returned in the same condition it was hired, we; thebreakpad reserve the right to demand trade costs for damage done to equipment. Hire fees include; Helmet, lock, pump, inner tube, tools and saddle bag. Bikes must not be left unattended and locked when not in use. Proof of address identification will be retained during the hire period, (driving license or Passport). This will kept in a secure unit, and returned at hire end. Under the data protection act, no personal information will be given to other agencies.

3. Cancellation If you wish to alter your hire/purchase arrangements we will do our best to accommodate you. If you have to cancel your hire you must notify us immediately in writing or email. Once you have secured your booking, our £10 per bike deposit is non-refundable if less than 24hrs notice is not given.

4. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your hire/purchase or make material alterations we will notify you as soon as possible and offer you the choice of an alternative or a full refund.

5. Force Majeure- Except where otherwise expressly stated in these booking conditions, we regret we “thebreakpad” cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by "force majeure". For the purposes of these booking conditions, "force majeure" means any event which we, our employees, agents or supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include war, riot civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside our control.

6.Complaints - If you have a problem with our services, you should report it immediately to us so that the matter can be put right. Any ensuing complaints should be notified to us as soon as reasonably practical and in any event put in writing to us within 28 days of the end of your receipt.

6.2 Liability- for injury or loss. We will not be liable for any injury or loss suffered by you except in the following circumstances:i Death or personal injury caused by the negligence of us, our employees, agents or suppliers provided they were at the time carrying out work authorised by us; ii Misrepresentation made by us, our employees, agents or suppliers provided they were at the time carrying out work authorised by us; iii Breach of our contractual duty to exercise due diligence in making arrangements for your visit and for consequential loss arising from any such breach; iv Failure to provide contractual services which are adequate or are of a reasonable standard.

7.Insurance We strongly recommend that you are adequately insured for your hire although cover is not mandatory.

8. Bike familiarisation - You will be given the opportunity to familiarise yourself with our bikes and a member of staff will be on hand to assist you. Signature of this document determines that you the hirer have familiarised yourself with the equipment you have hired. Visitors to the forest are asked to read the forest code.

We can only reserve bikes if they are pre-paid. This service is currently only

available via telephone (01671 401 303).

• Signing of the hire agreement agrees liability for damages to the bikes that render them inoperable (this includes punctures). We strive to be fair in assessing any damages and will only ask for costs at trade prices. We don't seek to profit from damages, merely get the bikes back on the fleet.
 

• It get's very busy here, especially during Summer and at weekends all year round, so pre-booking is highly recommended. Please be sure to consult the height chart above.
